Gotcha!- T.R.M. funding cut

by Whaleoil on November 15, 2009 · 27 comments

Gotcha-TRMVeteran Maori Trougher Shane Kawenata Bradbrook taxpayer funded overseas jaunts have come to a spectacular end.

The Ministry of Health has cut his funding completely justifying the exposure of Te Reo Marama and its Director by this blog.

The repeaters at the HoS though fail once again to acknowledge where this story emanated from even though they talk about documents released under the OIA. Documents this blogger released. Clearly strong words are needed to be had with Shayne Currie and the other Editors at the HoS about acknowledgment of sources. No wonder the blogosphere calls these thieving scum repeaters.

Speaking of theiving scum Shane Kawenata Bradbrook continues to spin and lie. He reckons that the Ministry of Health never said anything to him about his excessive overseas travel. perhaps he might like to clarify that statement a bit before this blog publishes the minutes of review meetings between himself and the Ministry of Health that I obtained under the OIA. I won’t publish them just now though lest the repeaters at the HoS claim the work for their own.

The least the HoS could have done was say where the OIA documents came from. I suppose I could accept an invite to their Christmas party as a an apology. (Not holding my breath)

Meanwhile Shane Kawenata Bradbrook joins the Gotcha! Trophy wall. Back to hunting more troughers….oh and there is more to come on TRM but other Government departments are dragging the chain on OIA requests.

What’s the bet he’ll nuzzle up to another taxpayer funded trough within a year!

Whaleoil has ripped off Bradbrook’s head, and shat down his throat. A comprehensive victory.

Direct hit Whale. Well done.

This scumbag has ripped off the taxpayer to jaunt around the world for far too long. His explanation is typical of his mate Hone Harawira – blame everyone else and that it is all a plot by colonialists. This guy and the directors who SHOULD have been overseeing the governance of this organisation should be forced to pay back the millions they have ‘stolen’ from the taxpayer.

Let’s hope the Minister of Health has asked for a full briefing on this incident from his officials in the Ministry of Health, particularly about the roles of the directors and their current positions within the health sector.

Well done Whale.

If the goal is to out government expenditure which has no effect, then how about OIA requests to find out how much taxpayer money is being spent on those horrible ads on TV about road safety, not cooking when one is pissed and I am sure plenty of other things. I suspect any review of effectiveness would suggest the same impact as TRM, i.e nil. Troughing of a different sort, but still troughing.

You mean the ‘old’ Rodney. The new Rodders had all the usual mid life crisis, along with reverting back to the original professional student – university tutor he started out as.

If you want to claim the moral high-ground Whale, will you reveal “your” source for this story?

I didn’t think so. You can be such a hypocrite.

The OIA was the source of the documents, but it was not the source of the story.

Whale has only investigated this story because of a tip-off from an undeclared source. Which makes him nothing more than the “repeaters” he castigates.

So please try again Fiinkensein, or don’t bother trying at all.

Get a life! If you bothered to read any of these posts about the troughing of the group te Reo marama and its boss Shane Kawaneta Bradbrook you could clearly see he was so far up to his snout in taxpayer funding that it was only a matter of time before someone found this out. And thanks to the Auditors this is exactly what happened. Trying to blame Whale for some form of delusional conspiracy undermines the very good work he’s done on exposing this (and plenty of other troughers).

Great stuff Cam – you have done us a great public service by exposing this double-dipping parasite, and got up the noses of the Smokefree Nazis at the same time. I don’t smoke and I never have, but that’s been my choice, and I haven’t needed a pack of zealots to tell me what I should and shouldn’t be doing.

And to the Herald – give credit where it’s due. You knew that you had been scooped on this one; flush the dunny and move on!

What’s the betting your Dr Bruce Raptor is up to his neck in this little scam as well? Why don’t you ask (OIA) for the names of the PHOs with more than $100k reserves at June29th? What’s the betting they’ll include all the practicies which are whinging about Labtests?

The real mystery to me is how do these troughers get these pointless positions in the first place? What is Bradbrook’s background? I’ll warrant he was never a doctor. Good stuff but he’ll re-surface in another guise.

I get the feeling that there is a big sigh of relief now in the MOH’s tobacco control team that this is all over.

…I know I’m stirring but what of the Directors of Te Reo Marama…

a) Do they get off scott free?
b) Are they involved with any other organisations that receive government $$$?
c) What about the funding TRM receives from NZ AID?

Whale, you’re onto something here that goes beyond tobacco issues.

So the inner workings of Labour’s Nanny state apparatus is slowing being unwoven. Great work Whale.

Watch out for the rabid nanny state supporters in the anti-fun brigade (anti-tobacco, anti-alcohol and anti-gambling) who will be after you now. But, don’t stop. These wankers under the guise of public health do-gooders are only about protecting their troughing from the taxpayer tit.

Beenie you seem to forget that as a result of Whale’s efforts this group Te Reo Marama has now been exposed and discredited for flying off around the world on the taxpayer for the last few years, while Maori smoking rates have continued to be alarmingly high. So if Whale hadn’t reported on this, the Ministry of Health would have buried this ‘fuck-up’ and hoped no one would be any the wiser. You also seem to conveniently forget that the Ministry continued funding this crooked outfit while sitting on a damning audit report that is nothing short of scathing of the governance of the organisation.

Why then has Whale not put the Ministry names, photos, pictures of their cars etc on the site? They are the ones to blame for this mess. Or did they actually provide this informationin the first place?
