From my time of try­ing to talk sense to those at the Stan­dard, I learned they’ve got no claim to moral supe­ri­or­ity. Lynn in par­tic­u­lar would resort to abuse at the drop of a hat for dar­ing to dis­agree with him.

Sheesh – the Stan­dard is in dam­age con­trol mode today. I’ve just copped a six-month ban for describ­ing “Eddie” as a Labour Party staffer.

I only men­tioned the con­nec­tion, because Eddie had labelled the cur­rent gov­ern­ment as cor­rupt, which I thought was a bit rich com­ing from some­one with his/her pedi­gree. I use the term “his/her”, because I under­stand that there is not one sin­gle Eddie, but that more than one per­son using that han­dle, not just the party activist Jenny Michie. I guess that, and their over-reaction sug­gests that free speech is not the domain of the Left.

I agree with no leftie,I think that most of the reg­u­lars who post at the sub stan­dard (all 10 of them)would like to shoot/kill all per­sons of a non left persusion.They ovi­ously dont say this but its an impres­sion im left with.They think that any­one with an IQ below 120 shouldnt be posting,whereas i would say that a good lot of labour/union sup­port­ers would be in this group.Im not say­ing they are thick but surely they are the peo­ple that the stan­dard should represent,or maybe/proberly only national vot­ers are thick in the eyes of Lynn and his mates.

Which is why any gov­ern­ment intent on gov­ern­ing, or ulti­mately reform­ing, NZ — will have to shoot the lot of them, sooner or later.

I have to say that while I am banned for­ever for tak­ing the mickey out of Lynn(and his pre­cious global warm­ing) once too often, the Stan­dard remains a guilty plea­sure of mine.

The blind devo­tion to social­ism — hatred of cap­i­tal­ism and refusal to accept any new ideas can really brighten an oth­er­wise dull day.
